Stipends may be used for registration, lodging and travel, with a maximum of $1500,- for US based applicants or $2000,- for foreign applicants.

Applications are a single PDF submitted to info@synapsesymposium.org with “Travel Stipend application” in the subject line containing the following items:

• A 1 page cover letter (max 500 words) outlining the reasons for applying. Please also explain why funding from other sources is not possible (e.g. departmental or grant)
• A scientific abstract for the meeting
• A short academic CV (max 2p)

Requirements/criteria:

Applicants should:

1. be affiliated with a recognized university or research institution worldwide
2. attend the full meeting
3. acknowledge the funding organization on their poster or in their oral presentation
4. deliver a detailed breakdown of costs with original receipts within 2 weeks after return
5. submit a 1p personal report (max 500 words) about the meeting within 2 weeks after return

Abstracts should be in the focus of the meeting (synapse biology).

Stipends are paid after the conference, upon submission of receipts and statement.

Letters of Recommendation are not required
